Mustangs Sneak Out of Elora With a Win
The Novice B group started round two of the LLFHL play offs last night in Elora as the Stratford Aces visited. My mother told me there would be games like this as the Mustangs struggled to find their grove throughout all three periods. Kate Mabey opened the scoring on a solo effort as a hard shot popped over the stick of the Aces goalie mid way in the first.
The score sheet remained blank until early in the third an opposing forward finally capitalized on one of many breaks the Mustangs were handing out making it 1-1. Lady luck was on the home side as late in the third Landyn Meadows smacked in the winner among a sea of legs and the Stangs escaped with 2 valuable points. In play offs it's always better to win ugly than lose pretty! The coaches know we will see the hard working Novice team we know and love as we travel to Brantford next weekend to compete in the annual Ice Kats tournament. There they will battle all first place teams from the LLFHL loops and test themselves against the best. See you at the rink ladies.
