Call off Snow Patrol - the Avalanche has been stopped!!!
On Saturday the novice girls rep team travelled down to Ancaster for the second half of a home and home to once again take on the undefeated Avalanche. The girls played very hard in Ancaster and this allowed them to beat the first place Anacaster Avalanche. With the win, the Mustangs team is no longer in last place for the division - great job girls!!!
Brynn Hattle showed them early that we came there with the intent of ending that undefeated streak by finishing off an end to end rush with a nice move to put the Mustangs up 1-0. From there the game went back and forth on the score sheet till Sydney Healey scored her 5th goal of the game for the Mustangs late in the third to put them ahead 6-5. From there they shut down the explosive Ancaster offence and handed them their first defeat of the season. Diljee and Pettifer added to the score sheet with assists. Keira Healey played outstanding in the net turning away many shots to hold them in and did everything she could to earn the victory.
