Oakville Hornets get stung by Novice B Mustangs!!!
The Novice Rep Mustangs travelled to Oakville on Saturday to play the Hornets for the second time this year. The Mustangs were able to avenge their earlier loss to this team by beating them 3-0. The girls played solid defence throughout the entire game and managed to keep the puck in the Oakville side of the ice for the majority of the time. Great work girls!!!
The girls on defence did a great job in this game of keeping the puck in the Oakville zone and the forwards did an excellent job of fighting for the puck and putting the pucks on the Oakville net. Ailsa Litchfield was able to provide a shut out as goalie in only her second game between the pipes due to this total team effort.
Mackenzie Renaud popped in her second goal of the season during the first period. Sydney Healey scored one goal in the game and had many other chances to score even though she was playing in only her second game as defence. Olivia Kosempel scored the third goal for the Mustangs on a great shot to beat the Oakville goalie. Olivia played a very strong game and generated many scoring chances and break away opportunities. Keira Healey was awarded an assist on the first goal for the Mustangs.
