A Successful Play Off Weekend
The Atom rep team built on last weekends play off results this Friday and Saturday by posting two shut out victories. On Friday night the Mustangs traveled to Kitchener to play game two of round one in the LLFHL play offs. It was another physical, tightly contested affair but early in the first Lindsay Bouwman rang one off the iron and "Johnny on the spot" Kara den Hoed made no mistake as she slammed it into the net making it 1-0 Stangs. That was all she wrote as period 2 and 3 yielded some quality chances with nothing to show for them. This victory eliminates the Rangers and sends the Mustangs onto round two where they will face another familiar foe in the Waterloo Ravens.

Saturday was another road match up with the second of a home and home OWHA play down against the North Halton Twisters. This time the Atom rep squad left no doubt as scoring was spread evenly throughout all three frames. Period one saw Landyn Meadows make the goal column from Kendra Harkins and Erin Pettifer. In period two it was Tianna "T Dot" Dietrich popping one far side and in the final 12 minutes the empty netter goes to Kara den Hoed from Frances Wolkensperg. Final 3-0 Mustangs! Alexa Milne was solid in the cage as her and her D ladies brought the shut out total up to 19! Good solid weekend ladies, see you at the rink tomorrow as we now prepare for our next challenge against Waterloo on Thursday/Saturday and Brampton on Sunday.
