North Halton Tournament Recap
The weekend of Nov 16-18 we traveled to Milton for the Twisters Tournament. The team was eager and ready to go for the first game on Friday at 8:30pm

Game 1 was against Oakville Golden Griffins. The girls started strong and played good positional hockey, controlling the play in the other end for periods of time. We took the lead mid-way through the 1st period with a goal from Natalie, assisted by Caron. Oakville came back with a goal in the dying seconds of the same period to tie the score. We had many chances the rest of the game, but the puck was not cooperating and would not find the back of the net. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. Great game in net by Leah and a special mention to Meredith who play a strong game on the wing, playing out for the first time this year.

Game 2 was early Saturday against North Halton Blue Lightning. Again the girls came out ready to play and had many opportunities to score. We were on the board first with a goal from Keira, with Natalie getting the assist. North Halton tied it up early in the second but our girls did not give up. We took the lead again late in the second with a great 'top shelf' shot from Sydney after a great breakout pass from Olivia. Just the way we practiced! Mid-way through the 3rd period, North Halton tied it up and that is the way the game ended.

The third game was against Oakville Green Martians. Oakville came out strong and took a quick 2-0 lead after just 4 minutes. However, our girls played awesome the rest of the game and kept Oakville to just one more goal. In the 3rd period we finally answered with an unassisted goal from Natalie. She found the right spot just over the goalie's left pad. The game ended 3-1 for Oakville and our tournament was over.

Many parents came to us after the last game and mentioned how well our girls played in all 3 games. Even though we did not make it out of the round-robin it was a positive tournament for us. 2 of the 3 teams we played made it to the next round and we kept pace with them both. Well done Mustangs!
