Another Goalsfest in Guelph!
In the second half of a home and home series with Guelph, the Mustangs pulled off another decisive win of 9-0 over the Gryphons. All the girls played hard and this proved to be too much for the young Gryphon team from Guelph. The Mustangs dominated the play of the game from beginning to end and this allowed the opportunity for the coaches to move some of the forwards back to defence and visa versa. We have a tough game coming up this Saturday against Oakville girls, so lets keep the offense rolling!

Mackenzie Renaud opened the scoring very early at 9:36 of the first period on an assist from Amanda Johnston. Morgan Robinson then made it 2-0 at the 5 minute mark of the first period. The assist on that goal went to CJ Pardy. Not wanting to be left out, Alli Pettifer scored at the 3 minute mark of the first to make it 3-0 on an assist from Amanda. Mackenzie closed out the first period with a goal at the 2 minute mark. The goal was assisted on by Campbell Lean.

Mackenzie scored 2 more goals during the second period to take a commanding 6-0 lead for the Mustangs. Assists on these goals went to Avery Diljee and Revlyn McManus. In the third period, Campbell and Amanda moved up to the forward lines and Mackenzie along with Alli went back on defence. This did not stop the scoring spree as Campbell scored her first goal of the year at 5:34 of the third period. I imagine Campbell will be dedicating that goal to her new baby sister, Carter. The assist on the goal went to Mackenzie. 2 other goals were scored in the 3rd period, one by Morgan and the other by Mackenzie. Amanda earned the last assist for the game.

This was the second game in a row where Mackenzie was able to score 5 goals in one game! Awesome work girls, lets head to Oakville on Saturday and put some cookies in the oven there!
