Galloping in the Right Direction!
How would the Atom B Mustangs respond following a two week layoff, following their tough 1-0 loos at Wilmot?
Well that question was answered with a hard-working 1-1 tie on Saturday against a tight-checking St. Mary's Rock squad, then an even more complete effort in a 2-0 victory over the Kitchener Lady Rangers! In the St. Mary's game, Brynn bulged the twine, assisted by Alwynn, and Logan was called upon to make some excellent saves.
Then the girls built on the lessons learned against St. Mary's and came out with renewed vigour from the first puck drop against Kitchener. Nearly every shift, by each line and defensive pair, was marked by hard skating and determined, gritty play. The Mustangs got many pucks to the net, with a number of good hard shots that just went wide...which means they were trying to NOT hit the goalie with the puck! Cameron got the girls on the board, assisted by Carolina; and Carolina got the insurance marker, assisted by Emily.
Lots of ice this week, in preparation for our trip to Barrie to participate in the Barrie Sharkfest Tournament next weekend!
