With clocks being moved up, the girls lost a hour of sleep (parents lost a hour in the party room) before taking on a new team in the Ancaster Avalanche.
With the time change it appeared both teams were still thinking of sleeping as the game took on a very slow pace. After a scoreless and practically shotless first period, the second was following the same pattern. With three minutes left, Tegan picked up the puck at the Ancaster blue line and screamed towards the Avalanche goal. The puck was in and out of the net before the goalie knew what happened as the Mustangs went up 1-0.
The 1-0 score was still on the board with seconds to go as the Avalanche pulled out all the stops in this win or go home contest. The Mustangs held strong and made the 1-0 score hold up as they were headed to the finals for the fourth straight tournament.
The birthday girl Jadyn picked up the MVP of the game.
