Welcome Back Mustangs, I Missed You Guys
The girls had one more game in 2015 on Sunday as they entertained the Woolwich Wild at the Corral. To add a little different twist to the game, the Mustangs wore their road purple uniforms for the home town fans.

It's been a rough patch for the Lady Stangs as of late. Goal scoring has become an urban legend of sorts; something people talk about but have not been there to see it for themselves.

After a brief team meeting to get the girls refocused on the task at hand, the home team hit the ice with purpose. Although the first period ended as a 0-0 tie, the Stampede was in effect. Despite playing short staffed again, the Mustangs carried the play to the Wild setting the stage for things to come.

With the second period just about done, KP grabbed the puck at the blueline and dangled around the lone defender. With a clean path to the net, Peters roofed it upstairs (picture) to break the team scoreless drought and giving the Mustangs a long needed breath of fresh air.

Not to be satisfied with a slim 1-0 lead, Mi buried one of her own from in tight. Amazing wrister from intight that took the elevator all the way to the top. The goal sparked a come back from the Woolwich team as they outworked the girls (grrrrrrrr) for an icing, threw the puck to the slot and behind Texas Ranger.

Mrs. T had enough of the jibba jabba and scored the insurance with two minutes to go to seal the win. Although the Wild pulled their goalie for a last ditch effort, KP struck again in the waining seconds for her second of the day.

It was a long overdue game for the girls. For a team that works so hard, it was great to see them finally get rewarded for it. They moved the puck well, were patient when they had possession and looked for open teammates. Soon we will have the whole crew together as Duece will be back on the ice this week. We haven't had the original lineup together since the beginning of the season and I cant wait to get back to work with the whole team.
