Provincials Here We Come!
After winning three straight OWHA play down games without surrendering a goal, the Bantam BB Mustangs had one last game on the playoff schedule with the Brampton Canadettes.
Even though they already secured a berth in the Provincial tourney, the Mustangs played their last game of play downs as if it was do or die. Coming out flying the Stangs got on the board early as Sinc buried the one timer from My only 74 seconds in. Six minutes later, Roon bumped the lead to 2-0 scoring one of her own.
The Canadettes would cut the lead to 2-1 in the second, but Kai scored shortly after to restore the two goal cushion.
Once again the girls played a high tempo, heavy forecheck game that pushed Brampton back on their heels for the majority off the game. When the dust settled, Grand River came away with their fourth straight win and finished with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss in round robin play.
Great job ladies, now its a waiting game until the provincial tourney on April 6-8.
