Houle Holds The Fort
The third game of the season saw Grand River travel to Waterloo to tangle with the Ravens for a rare morning game.
The Ravens came out from the drop of the puck and demonstrated a sense of urgency that pushed Grand River back on their heels. Not happy just to show up, Waterloo battled hard for every loose puck and controlled the majority of the first. With 32 seconds left in the opening frame it would pay off as the home town Ravens scored to take the early 1-0 lead.
Waterloo didn't let their foot of the gas in the second or third and maintained the 1-0 score, easily earning the two points. The scoreboard didn't accurately portray the storyline of this game as Grand River was held to only five shots within the Ravens zone and if wasn't for the strong play of Stangs goalie Paige Houle, it would have been a different story all together.
