Chaser Picks Up The Hat Trick in Stangs Win
Fresh off their first game of the season Friday night, the Midget BB Mustangs took the ice two days later in another home game against the North Halton Twisters.
There was little doubt that the girls were ready to play, as both Ella Chase and Emily Medeiros (her first as a Mustang) hit twine to give Grand River a 2-0 lead before the game was even 2 minutes old. Similar to Friday nights game, penalties remain an issue as the Stangs surrendered a PP goal to the Twisters to cut the lead to 2-1. With seconds to go in the first, Lauren Dixon powered down the wing to tuck one upstairs to restore the two goal lead.
The scoring continued in the second with Alexis Kent pushing the lead to 4-1. After that, it was Chaser's time to bury two more of her own to give her the hat trick and make the score 6-1, the eventual final.
It was a good way to cap of the opening weekend of hockey as the girls now get ready to play in the Niagara Falls Rapids tourney this weekend.
