Midget Stangs Edge Ravens
Already playing their third game against the Waterloo Ravens, the home town Mustangs were looking to get on the winning side of the scoresheet.

It didn't look too promising early as the Ravens took it to Grand River in the opening period. It was a 1-0 Raven lead after the first, a score that would have been a lot worse if it wasn't for Mustangs goalie Alyssa Varallo stopping 14 shots in the first 12 minutes of play.

Less then a minute into the second Waterloo stretched the lead to 2-0. The second goal against sparked Grand River as they started battling back. With heavy forecheck in place, Bailey Sabila and Lauren Dixon each scored to pull even at 2-2. On the PP, Waterloo went ahead again on a cannon shot from the blue line. Grand River got back to work and with time ticking down in the second, Bella Hadfield scored to once again pull the Stangs even at 3-3 just before the flood.

If the first period was Waterloo's, then the third was all Grand River. Pressing for the go ahead goal, Aly Montgomery deflected a point shot from Emma Medeiros into the net to make it 4-3. Despite a last minute flurry from Waterloo, Varallo and the Mustangs held on to nail down their first win of this early LLFHL season.
