Hatty For The "Legend"
The Midget Mustangs hopped right back into play-downs Monday night with the beginning of 5 games in 7 nights. First up was a trip to Acton to take on the undefeated North Halton Twisters.

If a fast start was what the Stangs were looking for, they got it. Unfortunately it was from the Twisters as they opened up the scoring 29 seconds into the game. It was a wake up call for Grand River as they turned up the attack and 90 seconds later Erin Rooney scored on a break away to tie it up at 1-1.

As the penalty parade started for Grand River, it paid off for the home team as North Halton would take back the lead midway through the second on the power play. The rest of the period was a back and forth affair with nothing changing on the scoreboard except the penalty time.

The girls of Grand River would use the intermission in between the second and third to "reflect" on the previous two periods. It served useful as the Mustangs came out strong with Rooney scoring again two minutes in to tie the game up at 2-2. Follow that up with a PP goal for Aly Montgomery 90 seconds later and Grand River would take their first lead of the game. Jaime Glerum and Rooney (for the hat trick) would both score in the final two minutes to hand North Halton their first loss of the post season.

Grand River will now host North Halton Tuesday night at the Corral in the final game of the home and home match up.
