The Mustangs are pleased to announce our two U9B Head Coaches for the upcoming 2024/25 season. Coach Mike Garvey & Coach Jason Marcone will each be taking the reins. These two are excited to support the development of our younger players. Jason is the current coach for our U9B program, while Mike is the current coach for our U9 Local League team.
We are thrilled to see these two as coaches again this year! Thank you both for your dedication to the Mustangs!
A little about Coach Mike
My daughter, Ember, has played with the Mustangs for the past 3 seasons and I was honoured to be the coach of the U9LL team this season. I have also been a trainer and assistant coach with my son’s team the last 2 seasons. I bring a spirit of fun and light-heartedness to the teams that I coach. I do what I can to make each practice enjoyable, fun and educational. We will do a lot of team building off ice, as well as find a charity to support through the off season and the season. In the off season, you can find me on a baseball diamond coaching, playing or rooting for the Blue Jays. As a coach I like to place a big focus on learning through fun. I’m looking forward to lots of fun, learning and development in the upcoming season!! Go Mustangs!!
A little about Coach Jason.
I love being on the ice, it’s a passion of mine to help players become better both on and off the ice. I focus on quick, up tempo practices while keeping it fun. At this age the main focus is on skating, puck handling, playing as a team and more skating. Off ice is very important to me as well. Building a tight knit group by doing many activities is a big part of team.
