Mustangs Go To School This Weekend
The Novice B group had a valuable learning experience this weekend as they battled one of the top teams in the province in OWHA playdowns. They dropped both games against the North Halton Twisters, each 2-0, but gained some insight on how they must battle for every inch of ice if when they play with the elite B teams in Ontario.

On Saturday they traveled to Milton and after the first period were down 1-0, period two went scoreless as they Stangs increase their compete level and pushed back. The Twisters sealed the deal with a second goal mid way through the third. On Sunday it was North Halton's turn to be on the road as they visited Fergus. Period one went scoreless as the Mustangs started where they left off from game one and competed very well against a strong opponent. An unfortunate bounce in period two resulted in a puck going behind Milne and eventually ended up in the back of the net. The Novice B group continued to battle and created stronger scoring chances as the game progressed but a strong shot from a Twister forward ended up being "called a goal" despite the protest of several Mustangs players. Time ran out and game two ended the same as game one. Overall it was a positive learning experience for the Novice B group as they attempt to gain a birth in the provincial championships where they will face the top teams the province can produce. They now start round two of their LLFHL play offs against Stratford Thursday. Good effort overall ladies, lets learn from this weekend and prepared Thursday for more play off action - it's an exciting time of the season!
