U13 A/BB Coach Announcement!
The Mustangs are thrilled to announce Rich Colwill as the head coach for U13 A/BB team for the 2023/24 season! Rich brings an inclusive and cohesive approach to coaching with an added focus on supporting the community. He's been a successful head Coach for the past two seasons, last year leading the U11B team to Provincial finals, and this year his U11BB teams’ record at tournaments stands at two golds and a silver. Rich is looking forward to watching the team grow and develop their skills and even more success! We can't wait to see what's to come for U13 A/BB with Rich holding the reins!
His coaching philosophy includes fair play for all players - "I want all players to feel like they have a role to play on the team... It's rewarding to see the progress hockey players make over an entire season.”
Supporting this community is just as important for Coach Rich and his bench staff, this past year the entire team and their families’ wrapped gifts before the holidays for seniors in the community that were isolated from family or didn’t have family. This small gesture meant the world to the recipients and was so appreciated by staff, not to mention the team activity strengthened relationships for both players and their families. This is such a great example of leading, supporting and growing in our community.
Rich brings a wealth of hockey and coaching experience to the role having played in the OHL, OUAA and professional hockey in the ECHL with Toledo and Wheeling and having coached numerous teams in the past. When not on the ice inspiring young athletes, Rich saves lives as a fireman.
