The Grand River Mustangs are thrilled to announce Charlie Stephens as head coach for our U13 Tier 1 program for the 2025/26 season.
Born in London, Ontario, Charlie was a standout player, selected first overall in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) entry draft. He enjoyed a successful career in the OHL, playing for teams such as the Toronto St. Michael's Majors, Guelph Storm, and London Knights.
Originally drafted by the Washington Capitals, Charlie spent time with the Colorado Avalanche and the Ottawa Senators NHL organizations, before heading to Europe to finish his 14-year professional hockey career. Charlie continues to see success as part of the WOSHL championship team, the Elora Rocks!
Charlie brings a wealth of knowlege and a player-first approach to coaching. His focus will be on creating a positive and supportive environment for each athlete, encouraging personal growth, skill development, while building a strong team culture.
When Charlie is not at the arena with his three daughters, he can be found keeping the peace as a Special Constable at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Congratulations Charlie, and good luck on a successful season!
