Announcing Coach Eddy for U18 A
COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT
The Grand River Mustangs are thrilled to announce Eddy Gaffney as the new Head Coach of our U18 A team for the 2026-27 season!
Coach Eddy brings an incredible depth of hockey experience from every level of the game. From his playing days through AAA, Junior, and Senior hockey, to his coaching career spanning minor hockey, Junior C, Junior A, and Major Junior development, Eddy knows what it takes to compete and succeed at the highest levels.
And now he's ready to lead our U18 A program and help our players reach their full potential.
Eddy Gaffney has lived and breathed hockey his entire life. He spent 8 years playing AAA hockey and 6 seasons in Junior hockey, working his way from Jr C all the way to Major Junior. His love for the game continued with 14 seasons of Senior Hockey, suiting up for both the Elora Rocks and Shelburne Muskies.
His coaching resume is equally impressive. Eddy has 6 seasons of minor hockey coaching under his belt, served as head coach of the Fergus Devils Jr.C for 2 seasons, and spent 2 seasons as assistant coach with the Orangeville Flyers Jr.A. He's also worked as a development coach for Major Junior hockey clubs, helping players make the jump to the next level.
Beyond the bench, Eddy has over 10 years of hockey school instruction experience with top-tier organizations including Varsity Hockey, Canadian Hockey Enterprises, and Power Hockey Development.
Eddy's philosophy? Determination, hard work, and the drive to excel both on and off the ice. He's committed to helping players learn, grow, reach their goals, and of course, have A LOT OF FUN along the way!
He believes in growing players and building a team with athletes who are committed and passionate about being here.
