Cancellation notice for Mustangs games and practices
Submitted By Cindy MacCormack on Monday, December 13, 2021
Hello Mustang parents/caregivers,

The Mustangs Board has decided to put a hold on all hockey activity (games and practices) effective immediately.

While we have yet to record any positive Covid-19 cases within the Mustang organization, out of an abundance of caution, the Board has decided to implement a pause on activity so we can safely assess our current situation and evaluate next steps.

Why have the Mustangs decided to pause all hockey activity:

  • A number of current players have been asked to self-isolate as a person of close contact
    • This pause will provide greater clarity into the numbers of potential/actual cases affecting the Mustangs organization (based on the number self-isolating now)
  • Other organizations have also paused all hockey activity (Guelph) and we expect a number of others to do the same shortly
  • An appreciation of the rapidly evolving nature of the current Covid situation
  • Ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable Holiday Season

What happens now:

  • All remaining games booked between now and Dec 28th will be rescheduled in January 2022
  • Practices are cancelled up to and including Dec 19th
  • A communication will be sent out on December 18th about future practice schedules
  • Development Training/Power skating will also cancelled for December 19th

Covid assessment/reporting going forward

  • Parents/caregivers, if a Mustang player or someone in your household is deemed a close contact, you must notify your coach as soon as possible so we can keep track of any cases
  • Coaches, you must immediately let the Mustangs board know about any close contact reported
  • Please adhere to all health guidelines provided to you by Public Health

We really appreciate all the support from the Mustang families during this season; it has been a complete success so far!  The Board would like to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable Holiday Season and we look forward to having the girls back on the ice as soon as possible. We ask that
