Inaugural 50/50 Fundraiser a tremendous success
The Mustangs are pleased to announce that the first 50/50 Raffle Fundraiser was a tremendous success with the winner taking home over $2,200! The following are just two examples of how 100% of the funds raised have been reinvested into the League to assist player and coach development; Improved pylons for the Sportplex & HOCKEYSHARE License for all teams!
Improved pylons for the Sportplex. These new pylons are more robust than traditional pylons and less likely to be moved out of place when bumped by a player or a puck. This will allow practices to run smoother by eliminating the constant need to reposition pylons. These new pylons are also taller which will mean our youngest Mustangs will learn to skate with their head up - no longer will they need to look down in order to see where to turn. Thank you to Cherlyn Milne, Jamie Wright and Cory Buckton for driving this forward.
HOCKEYSHARE License. Each Local League and Rep team will be provided with a license to HOCKEYSHARE which will allow coaches to plan practices using professional-grade software. Some of the features include the ability to save and print PDF practice plans and share drills between teams. Coaches will also be able to share the practice plan with their team several days in advance. This benefits all Mustangs by allowing for more efficient use of ice time and increased player comprehension of the purpose of each drill. Special thank you to Jason May for bringing the concept forward.
The next Mustangs 50/50 Raffle is now live with an official launch expected in the next few days. We hope the next raffle will offer even greater excitement as it wraps up at the Remembrance Day Classic Tournament.
