The time has come to search for Volunteers for the Mustangs Board of Directors. Every few years the Board looks to add new faces around the table, through natural attrition, shifting positions and new positions being created. Our goal is to ensure that each girl has a safe, fun, and meaningful hockey experience. Please feel free to reach out to current board members if you have questions.
The Board of Directors is a critical part of the Mustangs Organization. We are hoping to get some fresh new perspectives to help shape and grow the Mustangs Organization over the next few years. To submit your interest in a position please reach out to the secretary email with a brief summary on why you feel you would be a great addition.
Registrar - An excel wizard! VLOOKUP’s and formulas are music to your ears! Organize annual registration with assistance from a sub-committee, ensuring that arrangements are made with Parks & Recreation Dept. and league volunteers for registration locations.
Treasurer - You love to run numbers and know where funds are going! Collect and properly record all funds and assets belonging to the GRMGHI. Ensure all Rep teams’ submit financial statements on a yearly basis.
Secretary - An organized Ninja, you keep everything on track! Record all minutes of and prepare agendas for Board meetings and Annual General Meeting. Provide agendas and copies of minutes to all Board members via email or hard copy prior to meetings.
Lead Time Keeper & Referee - You love to be behind the scenes making things happen. Trains and assigns timekeepers. Participates in the execution of the inclement weather and cancellation policy as required. Coordinate the training of players to become referees.
Lead Volunteer Coordinator - You know how to engage our experienced players to build a supportive community. Develop and maintain a policy to ensure all volunteers are properly screened and vetted in accordance with OWHA guidelines and policies. Schedule volunteers as required and continually assess that volunteers are meeting the user need and that they are being employed as intended. You know a lot of Mustang players (or are willing to put yourself out there)
Director of Event Planning and Community Engagement - You love our Mustangs community as much as being a part of Centre Wellington, you know how to network! Act as the Board’s lead for the GRMGHI to organize off-ice events that foster a sense of greater Mustang cohesion, team spirit and sense of community. Select year round events for GRMGHI participation that build awareness of the Mustangs brand in the community.
Director of Local League - Building Relationships and networking are your jam! Act as the main contact between Kitchener Girls Local League and partner associations on Local League matters. In collaboration with Registrar organize teams taking age, caliber, and registration numbers into account. Recruit coaches and prepare recommendations for coaching assignments.
Director of U7 & U9 - Watching our youngest members on the ice is the funnest part of your week! Acts as the primary point of contact with U7 and U9 families to ensure a smooth onboarding to hockey programs. Will provide communications to help families understand when the season starts, how the schedule works, and act in a mentorship capacity. Provides a liaison between families, the coaches and the Board.
Director of Sponsorship & Fundraising - You love to network and can see the big picture of how organizations support each other. Be responsible for recruitment and allocation of sponsors, collection of sponsorship fees, and recognizing sponsors immediately following each season.
In addition to the duties listed, the Board meets monthly for approximately 2 hours.
