Today, we want to extend our deepest thanks to Dan Gillies, who has recently retired as President of the Mustangs!
Dan’s journey with us began as a Member-at-Large, and his commitment and passion soon led him to the role of President.
Alongside a distinguished military career, Dan is a large supporter of our annual Remembrance Day Tournament, a tradition that keeps our community connected to the values of service and sacrifice.
He ensured that the Mustangs focus on community just as much as on hockey.
As a dedicated goalie parent, Dan tirelessly worked to make goalie training and equipment accessible, lifting the financial burden from families.
He also helped our organizations grow by securing ice time in Arthur, Grand Valley, and Drayton, so players could play closer to home.
Dan’s advocacy didn’t stop there—he played a large part in expanding the Mustangs to a two-tier rep program, allowing players to develop at their own pace, and was a strong supporter of the Mustangs Mentorship program, helping our older players guide and inspire younger Mustangs.
Thank you, Dan, for your service, vision, and leadership. You’ve made the Mustangs and our community stronger. Wishing you the best in your well-earned retirement!
