Novice 2 (8384), 2011-2012, LL (Grand River Mustangs)

The Mustang Novice2 girls ended their 3 game losing streak with a 5-1 victory over the Waterloo Ravens.  Emily led the team with a hat trick and 2 assists.  Olivia K scored 2 goals and had 2 assists.  Josey chipped in with 2 assists.  All 3 lines skated hard and kept fighting for the puck throughout the whole game.  Abby played a strong game in net and made a few very nice saves. Excellent effort girls.

After a fun event at the Storm game the night before, the girls had to wake up early for their Saturday morning game in Waterloo. It was another close game that ended in a 2-1 loss. The Mustangs had many scoring chances and easily outshot their opponent but could only get one puck past a very hot Waterloo goalie. That lone Mustang goal was scored by Halen, her first of the season. Abby assisted on the goal. Next game is Friday 7pm in Ayr.

The girls fought hard right to the final buzzer in a 6-5 loss to Waterloo Ravens. Olivia K let the Mustangs with 2 goals and 2 assists. An excellent game for Cameron scoring her first of the season and adding 2 assists. Josey and Emily were the other scorers with a goal each. Excellent effort by all the girls and a very fun game to watch.  

The girls play a good game and bounced back on Monday night after some tough losses on the weekend at the Wilmot tournament.  It was a 5-3 win over the Cambridge Roadrunners at the Elora arena. Josey and Emily led the Mustangs with 2 goals each and Olivia K was the other scorer. Nice game girls.

It was a 4-2 win for the Mustangs in an early morning game in Waterloo. All the girls skated hard and Stephanie made some nice saves in her first game as goalie. Goal scorers were Emily, Olivia K, Josey, and Abbie with her first of the season. This was the last game for the first half of the season and after a slow start the girls are learning to play very well together. We should have a new schedule for the rest of the season soon.
