Time To Get To Work
Fresh off a brief stint in the WWE Saturday night in Guelph,
the girls of Grand River were back at the home office and ready to get to
work on the playoff march. A slow start to the season has left us on the outside looking in and the first step of climbing the standings was a game with the Waterloo Ravens.
The Ravens currently sit in third with only two losses on the season, so this was a great test for the home town Mustangs. Despite several good scoring chances by both sides, this one was a battle of the tendys.
The Ravens came out strong in the first and the Texas Ranger held the fort to keep it 0-0 after one period of play. The Stangs went to work in the second & third periods outshooting Waterloo 2 to 1 but were unable to hit the twine.
When it was all said and done, a point was awarded to each side as it was a 0-0 tie with Sara picking up the MVP.
It was a great game to welcome us back to Lower Lakes play. Tough opponent, physical hockey and lots of puck movement. Hats off to the Waterloo squad for providing a great dance partner.
