Back Into The Wild
After a well earned point against Waterloo, it was time to journey into the wild in the heart of Woolwich.
The first go around for these two teams ended in a 1-1 tie as the Mustangs came out flat in the first and battled back to grab a point. This game would not be a repeat.
When the Mustangs get on the Stampede fore check and play pressure hockey, they are a very hard team to play against and the opening goal was an excellent example. With time ticking down in the first, MY let loose a shot from the left side on the Wild goal, leaving a rebound for Mo as she picked up the trash and buried her tenth of the year.
The 1-0 Mustangs lead would last until midway through the third when Mo picked up her second of the game. Seconds later, Burnzie sealed it with her eighth of the season making it 3-0, the eventual final score.
Beauty effort by the girls in this one as they continued their strong and consistent play. Mo picked up the MVP, doing what she does, bury biscuits!
On a side note, a look at the goal scoring leaders for this season it's Mo with 11 and Burnzie with 8. If those two names sound familiar its because they battled each other for the overall lead in the shot tracker all summer. They put the work in during the offseason to make huge contributions during the season.
