Stratford Aces Tournament
After 2 losses on Friday in Stratford, the girls came back strong on Saturday to salvage a win in the third game. The first game we controlled the play for most of the game and spent a long time in the opponents end. Kudos to the Woodstock goalie for keeping them in the game. We ended up losing 2-1 but played a very strong, disciplined game. The second game on Friday was against London and we did not play our strongest game of the season, with the final result being 7-0.
Our third game on Saturday was against Woodstock and again the girls played a disciplined, positional game and ended up winning 2-1. Unfortunately, the lopsided loss against London the day before meant we did not move on based on goal differential. All in all I think there were some very positive things to come out of the tournament, not least is the fact that this is a great group of girls that know how to have fun and play hockey, regardless of the outcome. Well done!
