Coach's Corner
Not a bad game tonight girls. Had some chances beat them in shots on net. All and all good effort. Good game T.J. No goals against !! Sat. not so good. We can not play the game from the penalty box. And do not want to entertain excuses and rationalizing why. So the coaching staffs message is clear and understood by parents and players. We are promoting aggressive play. Do not interpret this into dirty play or senseless penalties that hurts the teams chances and could possibly injure the opposing player. We need to represent our team and association with class and sportsmanship

We want our team to attack the puck hard and angle off the opponent and play tough. This is being done by our team successfully without penalties. We have been taking head shot , boarding type penalties and many penalties per game. Which is becoming concerning to me So from here out so it is understood by players and parents before it happens. I am implementing a new team rule. After 3 penalties in a game or a major penalty the player will be benched for a minimum of one shift and possibly more. If more than 3 penalties occur in a game or a major the player maybe benched for several shifts or for the remainder of the game. As well pending penalty history amount of penalties and type of penalties a game suspension may be implemented. If it does reach that point a meeting with the player and parents will be required. All will at the discretion of the coaching staff. We want to be a strong team that plays with edge and do not want that element of our game be lost. However I feel it is time to teach the girls we can be that team without senseless penalties. And there has to be consequences to their actions. Thank you for your support and understanding in this matter. The last thing I want to do is start benching players however we need do be a more disciplined team. We got out of the weekend with some point and we r heading in the right direction. I feel we are a little behind in the development that I had planned for the season. However unfortunately we have to go at the speed the team is performing at. Feel things are getting better and hoping to step it up a notch. To take advantage of the experience of our bench staff and to add another prospective coach Rob will be running this weeks practices. Welcome back Lauren. Hope coach Mike , Kayla and Erin are feeling better and back with the team soon. Congratulations to Shayna tonight's player of the game. See you on the ice tomorrow. Keep on Believing !!!!
