Novice (8406), 2012-2013, Rep (Grand River Mustangs)

The Grand River Mustangs Novice B girls hockey team went to Ottawa this past weekend to compete in the OWHA Provincial Championship tournament. All the best teams in the province were there to compete and not many people felt the Mustangs had hopes at a medal. The girls were hungry to come out and show everyone how competitive they could be. All of the girls played hard and as a team they left Ottawa as bronze medal champions!!!

The Grand River Mustangs Novice B girls hockey team went to Ottawa this past weekend to compete in the OWHA Provincial Championship tournament. They had a tough pool for round robin play with Ancaster, Belleville, and Barrie. Ancaster and Barrie both played in the LLFHL championships. The girls played very hard and managed to win all 3 games! Awesome job girls!

The Novice B girls started the playoffs in a winning way by beating the Guelph Thunder in 2 straight games. The girls played very strong throughout the whole game in game #1 and walked away with a 6-2 victory. It was a little different in game #2 where the Thunder rolled out to a 3-1 lead duriung the first part of the game. The Mustangs kept fighting and managed to leave with a 7-5 victory to win the series. Excellent effort by the girls! Next up are the Sabres from Stoney Creek.

The Novice B Mustangs went to Orangeville on the weekend to play in their last regular tournament of the year. Not having much success in the first 2 tourneys of the year, the girls were hungry to come out and show everyone how much they have improved. All of the girls played hard and as a team they left Orangeville as Tournament Champions. The banner is now hanging in Pad B of the Fergus arena. Awesome teamowrk girls, lets keep it going through the playoffs!

The girls continued to develop and are getting better every game. Over the last few games the girls were able to play great hockey and moved from 6th in the Central West division to finish all the way up to 3rd! Awesome job, girls, keep up the great work.
