Back in the W Column - The Old School Way.
After a two game hiatus (longest of the regular season) the Atom rep girls put one up in the win column and sent the monkey that was lingering packing. The score was the same as the last tilt between these two teams, however how they got there was different. After a solid first period by both squads it was Oakville that started the scoring in the second and made the up hill climb that much tougher. Not to be denied, the ladies in purple put their noses to the grind stone and scrapped out two markers in the final frame. The first from Megan Gunn, who cleaned up the rebound off Madison Benders point shot and the second in similar style by Lynsey Goodwin, from Carson Lean and Leah LeCourtois.
Well done ladies! That was a hard fought - grind one out - victory. You proved what you need to do and how you need to play. Keep that feeling and motivation as we travel to Waterloo next Sunday for our final regular season game. Coach Ryan can now retire with a perfect record......in girls hockey......so far!
