PeeWee BB, 2014-2015, Rep (Grand River Mustangs)

The Pee Wee BB team crossed off a major item from their seasons "to do list" Saturday as they played for Gold in the LLFHL Championship tournament. The team faced a well matched opponent in the Niagara Falls Rapids for the forth time this year. Every game between the two had been a 1 goal affair so why would this one be any different? In the end the puck luck went the way of the Rapids as a single biscuit trickled past the goal line some time in the second and gave Niagara the gold and the Stangs will celebrate silver.

All the clichés in this epic battle. An incredibly hard fought series with the closest of margins the difference. The West Huron Wave proved to be one of the toughest opponents of the play offs to date, congrats to their enter group for a job well done. Saturday the Mustangs hit the road and made the long trek the Clinton to play in the impressive Central Huron Community Center. No scoring to report in this one as both teams slugged it out to a 0-0 stalemate. Chances were traded but neither side would yield. ​

Were going to keep this one short and sweet. Not quite good enough tonight as the Mustangs skated to a 1-1 tie against the West Huron Wave in game one of the LLFHL West Loop finals. Nat Beilhartz scored the single from Gunn in the third but the Wave rolled one in late with the goalie out to knot it up. Let's get back at it and push a little hard Saturday for game two.

Shortly after our sister team the Bantam B's captured the gold in exciting overtime fashion the Pee Wee BB's did the same Sunday in the home town of the great #99. As expected it was a heck of a weekend of hockey with some of the toughest teams around. Friday was against the Hamilton Hawks, a top LLFHL team who is currently in their loop finals. No scoring in the first or second shows how tight this one was. In the third Rachel Patterson took matters into her own hands and bugled the twine on a back end rush, unassisted. Meg Gunn scored the GWG minutes later in a strangely similar fashion ...

The Pee Wee BB's finally finished their long OWHA playdowns and did it in fine fashion Monday and Tuesday. Monday it was Brampton's turn to visit the stables. This was a wild one as goals came fast. Alyssa Montgomery added to the triple trend as she joined the list of hat trickers. Frances Wolkensperg added a pair and Carson Lean the single. Assists were credited to Patterson (2), Goodwin (2), Dietrich, Beilhartz, and Bender. Final 6-0 Stangs.
