A Binary Weekend Still Results In A Clinch
It was a see saw weekend with a 1-0-0-1 code. Saturday had the St Thomas Panthers prowling into town with a chance for a first place clinch on the table. Not the most exciting match but a shut out victory just the same. Mid way through the first Frances Wolkensperg popped a rebound top shelf from Tianna Dietrich and Madison Bender and that was all that was needed to seal the W and a first place regular season finish for the BB Stangs - goal one complete.
Sunday had a similar feel but a mirror result as the Mustangs traveled to Kitchener to play the Lady Rangers in their annual "Girls Hockey Day". The highlight was meeting Gillian Apps pre game and getting a gander at her Sochi gold medal. Unfortunately combined with the excitement of their day it was the Lady Rangers that rose to the occasion and on a timely break away went bar down mid way in the second to take it 1-0. The Mustangs certainly had their chances but came away empty handed.
One more regular season game on Wednesday in Woolwich before the first round of the LLFHL play offs begin where the Mustangs will host the London Devilettes in a race to four points. Goal number two in the sights. Stay tuned for game dates and times!
