Bear in the Gear!
With a busy weekend of games on the schedule, the girls kicked it off with a road trip to Mt. Forest to take on the Rams.
Although we played Mt. Forest tough the last two games (2-2 & 0-1), scoring has been at a premium as of late and a short bench was the order of the day.
With the Ferg already out with illness, Texas Ranger followed suit and couldn't go between the pipes. With 20 minutes to go before puck drop, the request was sent out to the girls, "who wants to play nets?"
Without hesitating, Bear stepped up and said she would do it. Fresh off her last start in nets 3 years ago and wearing gloves for a left hander, she was ready to roll.
The girls in front of Bear did a great job over the second half of the game to keep the Rams away from our net, but at the end of the day playing against the undefeated Rams was too much as the Mustangs dropped a 3-0 decision.
Bear showed why she's wearing the C, she took the responsibility for playing goal on her own shoulders so a teammate wouldn't have to. Great job Brianna!
