Dixon Buries Winner To Open Playdowns
Submitted By Steve Fogarty on Tuesday, February 4, 2020
The Grand River Midget Mustangs opened up their Provincial Playdowns Monday night. The Stangs loop consists of 6 teams and a double round robin schedule. The first game for Grand River was a road trip to Orangeville to take on the Tigers.

The girls came out buzzing right out of the gate and it paid off quickly. Seven minutes in, Roon stripped a puck off the Orangeville D and was off to the races. Seconds later it was in the back of the net to put the road team up by one. The 1-0 lead remained until a minute left in the second when Dix buried her first of the post season off a sweet feed from Lex. A bad bounce in front of the Stangs goal with 6 minutes left in the game allowed Orangeville to cut the lead to 2-1. The goal against spurred the Mustangs to turn up the pressure as they finished off the game in the Tigers zone to seal the win.
