A Quarter Final Finish
Submitted
By dlecourtois on Apr 13, 2014 (1483 views)
It's all over for another season of Mustang hockey for the 2003/2004 generation. One, one and one was good enough to emerge from pool play in second place and play in a quarter final match. Game one was one of the best played in sometime as the Stangs battled and traded chances with the Russell Castor River Coyotes. The ladies an their keeper Jeffries skated to a 0-0 tie with the river dogs and earned a valuable single point.

Purple Power!
Submitted
By dlecourtois on Apr 06, 2014 (776 views)
The Atom BB girls had a final fun day of team bonding Sunday and each took home a fancy new hair style as they get geared up for Provincials. First in the morning they attended the free skate and year end banquet with a little lunch and time to just clown around on and off the ice. Then is was off to the Carousel Salon & Spa in Elmira to gain a little purple power in their beautiful locks! Thanks to Jennifer and Dayna for all their efforts and for opening the salon to groom these little ponies! Also to thanks Elaine for setting it up and to all the moms for supporting the event! Looking good ...

After a March break (and then some!) hiatus the Atom BB team got back into action last weekend and this. After their exciting series with Guelph the girls got some well deserved R & R but got back in the saddle last Sat against the old foe in Waterloo. Not surprising it was a lack luster affair and the girls came away with a flat 1-3 loss. Meg Gunn got the solo marker from Lynsey Goodwin and Carson Lean. This Saturday the group shuffled down the road to Elmira to take on the Woolwich Wild. This one was a better effort as the Stangs rolled home with a 1-0 win. Leah LeCourtois caught a case of ...

WOW! It Must Have Been the Menchies!!!!

Unbelievable....actually the girls did believe and then went out and got it done. They ate that elephant one bite at a time until the plate was clean. Not only was it a must win; it was a must win by a difference of +3! Right from the drop of the puck, as in game four, the Stangs were all over the Gryphons. As per usual period one went scoreless but the work ethic continued until Meg Gunn snapped one by the keeper and the stage was set. Two and a half minutes later Madsion Bender did as she has been doing for a week - she crashed the net and shoveled one home.

The Big 50 For All the Marbles
Submitted
By dlecourtois on Mar 01, 2014 (761 views)
Wow, what a heart racer! Saturday was game 4 of 5 in the OWHA play downs as Guelph slid into town. As expected it was a cardiac stressor. It came down to the third frame as both teams held tough for two periods of play. Finally Madsion Bender shoveled one past the Gryphons keeper sending the home crowd into a frenzy. Assist to Carson Lean and Ria Hamilton. Not to be outdone Lean popped number two home from Lynsey Goodwin and Meg Gunn. Logan Jeffries was awesome between the pipes are she posted the donut and set the stage for Sunday. Here we go! Game five tomorrow night for all the Marbles!
