After a tie in the series opener, the Mustangs headed out to the big city to take on the North York Storm. With a game plan in hand to shadow #91, possibly the best player in the LLFHL, the girls were eager to hit the ice.

It didn't take long to get the scoreboard lit up. Thirty-five seconds in, Frannie fired a shot at the Storm goal, as the puck laid uncovered in the crease, Cece pushed it in to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

The 1-0 score held up until the second when Frannie (sound familiar?) unleashed the laser top shelf blocker side to bump the lead to 2-0.

With 4 minutes remaining in the game, after a brutal missed call by the referee that allowed the play to continue, Fries came down the wing and tossed a knuckler towards the North York net which found twine. The 3-0 lead would stand as the final score and set the stage for an exciting game three the following day.

It was a dominating performance from the 14 girls in purple from net on out. A shout out to Red & The Boys for coming up with the game plan to shut down #91. Bigger shout out to the trio of Tegan, Cece and Brianna for taking on the shadow role and making it their own. Great play doesn't always make it to the score sheet and it was a beauty to watch.
