Texas Ranger Time
After a great gold medal weekend in Orillia, it was time to get back to Lower Lakes league play with a road game versus the second place Ravens. The importance of this game was pretty simple, win and the Mustangs are still alive in the playoff hunt.

The girls came to play and picked up right where they left of in Orillia. A heavy fore check in the first allowed the Mustangs to keep the puck in the Waterloo zone for the majority of the period. Despite outshooting the Ravens 6-3, the scoreboard was 0-0 after one.

The home town discount was in full effect in the second as the Mustangs made the march to the sin bin. Despite getting much love from the officials, Texas Ranger was equal to the task making 13 saves in the second period alone to keep the scoreboard at 0-0 heading into the final period.

Three minutes into the third it was time to light it up. Cutting across the middle in her own end, Burnzie picked up a laser pass from Chaser and streaked down the off wing. Using her speed to get a step on the Waterloo defence, Burnzie drove the net and buried the puck upstairs to give the Stangs a 1-0 lead. Despite some tense moments, the girls stood tall and came home with a hard fought road victory.

Sarah put in a great day at the office, finishing the day with 23 saves to earn the shutty and game MVP.
