Home Town Playoff Hockey
After an excellent road game effort on Sunday that resulted in a 0-0 tie, the girls were back at it on Thursday night for game #2 versus the Cambridge RoadRunners.

The scoring came early and often from both sides in the first period with Cambridge lighting up the board 25 seconds into the game. Not to be outdone, Kai answered back 12 seconds later to tie it up at 1-1. Three minutes later the RoadRunners scored to retake the one goal lead. Only for Kai (once again) to score her second of the game to tie it up at 2-2. Despite the run and gun play of the first, the Mustangs started to settled in to a grove, then came the penalty parade.

The home team Mustangs took 4 penalties in a span of less then 13 minutes. After the fourth penalty was killed off, it was 3-2 Cambridge and there was only ten minutes left in the game. The offense never got back on track after playing continuously short handed. Ten minutes later the game was done and Cambridge walked away with the lead in the first round playoff series.

Game #3 is Saturday night in Cambridge.
