Central West Champions!
After beating out Woolwich in round 1, the U18B Mustangs had Wilmot in round 2 and the Central West title was up for grabs.
Wilmot and Grand River were the class of the league all season and it was a finals match up that didn't disappoint.
After splitting the first two games, the stage was set for a winner takes all game Monday night at the Sportsplex.
After a scoreless regulation and overtime, it was going to be settled by a shootout. The Stangs scored on all three shots by Robyn Dixon, Emma Mussell and Jade McCracken to provide the offence. The defense was carried on the shoulders of third year goalie Paige Houle. Paige shut the door time and time again in this series and the shootout would be no different. Houle put the team on her back and played her best hockey of her Mustangs career to grab the title for Grand River.
After playing 10 playoff games in 17 days, the Mustangs have a well deserved break from the action before starting round 3 against the Lucan Irish and Saugeen Shores Storm.
