Novice Rep Team Plays First Exhibition Game!
On Sunday, the Novice rep team played their first exhibition game of the 2012/13 season. The Stratford Aces team travelled to Fergus to take on our Mustangs and were able to leave town with a 10-5 win.
Our Mustang players were definitely nervous before the game and were not sure what to expect due to all the new faces on the team. The Mustang players came out strong in the first period and played hard throughout the entire game. Although we came out on the wrong side of a 10-5 score, there were lots of great performances by the girls. Alli Pettifer made some great saves off a few Stratford break aways, Brynn Hattle demonstrated her strong ability to go after the puck and drive to the net - she got a hat trick (3 goals)!!! Olivia Kosempel also demonstrated a strong drive to the net which resulted in multiple break away opportunities. Olivia and Morgan Robinson each scored one goal for the Mustangs. An excellent start to the year for the girls and there were many positive signs from all the girls on the team. The next game for the girls will be an exhibition game in Waterloo on Sunday.
