Exhibition Game #2 - Closing the gap
The Novice Rep Mustangs travelled to Waterloo on Sunday to play the Ravens in their second exhibition game of the year. While they did not earn a victory, they did manage to keep the game closer than the first one with a 3-0 loss. We are closing the gap!!!
There was a lot of exitement in the room as we had 3 girls palying their first game of the year. Keira Healey and Avery Diljee are 2 new members added to the team's roster this past week. Both Keira and Avery put in very solid performances for their new team. Lauren MacDonald made a valiant effort to return from the injured reserve (due to a sprained ankle which kept her out of the first game) but unfortunately her injury continued to bother her so she left the game mid-way through the first period. Get well soon Lauren!
Alli Pettifer continued to improve at goalie and made some terrific saves out there. She really kept the team in the game even though she faced several break away chances from the Waterloo team. The Mustangs continued to get their own scoring chances with strong play from their forwards. Even though the Mustangs were unable to score any goals during the game, Brynn Hattle, Keira Healey, and Olivia Kosempel all earned their own break away chances but were denied due to a strong performance from the Waterloo goalie.
Girls, we need to continue working on our positioning so that we can close the gap even further. The Mustang's next game is Tuesday night in Stratford.
