For the second time in three days the Atom Mustangs tangled with one of the strongest teams in the league as the undefeated Cambridge Roadrunners Black came to Elora.

Did I mention Cambridge was a strong team?

Eleven seconds in, a Roadrunner picked up the puck at centre skated uncontested in on goal and roofed a puck to make it 1-0 Cambridge. It looked like a long night indeed but the girls bared down and tightened up defensively.

With Snakes in the cage, the girls started to battle back and although down, we never quit. Brownie Gretzky provided a break away goal for the good team to get us on the board but the final score was a 3-1 Cambridge win.

Very strong effort tonight as was evident by the applause from the parents and fans in the stands that came out to watch. Sam played real strong on the right wing forecheck, displaying some wheels that we are going to need moving into the playoffs after Xmas.

One more game to go for this portion of the season Friday night against Waterloo #3, another undefeated team.

It's not about the score of the games right now as much as it is effort and improvement. All will agree we have been seeing both in the last two games. If we carry this over into the playoff round, we will be successful.
