With two playoff games left on the schedule, the Atom girls welcomed the Milverton Royals to town for a Saturday afternoon game.
Feeding off the cheers of the parents and fans, the Mustangs game out firing taking the play to the visiting team. Four minutes in, "T-Dawg" Routly buried the games first goal and her first of the year to give the home team a 1-0 lead. The lead was short lived as Milverton scored less than a minute later to tie the score at 1-1. With a minute to go in the first, it was time for a house call as Dr. Doom Fogarty scored to put the Mustangs up 2-1. The lead would hold up until midway through the second when the Royals scored to tie it up at 2-2. The strong play of the girls paid off in the third as Brownie shot the puck towards the Milverton net, it bounced off a skate and in to make the score 3-2. With Van Halen holding the fort in the Mustangs cage, the home team held on for the win.
With one game remaining in the playoff round, the girls edged closer to securing a spot in the semi finals. Great effort that paid off with a well deserved victory.
