The Big 50 - A Rare Monday Exhibition Tilt
Submitted
By dlecourtois on Mar 25, 2013 (1623 views)
The Atom rep team reached the 1/2 Century mark Monday night as they played a Provincial warm up exhibition match against the Flamborough Falcons BB. Game number 50 was a pretty good tilt as they took it up a notch in level of play. Kara den Hoed actually opened the scoring for the visitors in their purple sweaters with silver trim. Assist on that marker go to Lindsay Bouwman and Madison Bender.

No "Luck of the Irish" Sunday for the Mustangs
Submitted
By dlecourtois on Mar 17, 2013 (863 views)
To be truthful, the Atom rep squad didn't create any of their own "luck" and the always challenging Woolwich Wild did. They were certainly the better team in Sundays game three and that finishes the 2012/13 LLFHL season for the Atom rep Mustangs. On the positive side the girls had an excellent LLFHL season finishing second during regular play (losing only 1 game) and pushing through the play offs until the very last possible game. Woolwich scored 2 quick ones early in the first, both on quality shots, and the Mustangs had to battle uphill for the rest of the contest.

LLFHL Loop Finals Goes to Game Three!
Submitted

It was a must win (or tie :) tonight as the Atom rep team hosted the Woolwich Wild in Elora. Game one went Monday and although it was a tightly contested match the Woolwich Wild managed the only marker and took game one 1-0. Game two proved to be just as tight even though both teams found the back of the net. Woolwich struck first as Brubacher lofted a floater towards the home net mid way through the second. Milne got a piece of it but it squirted through and bounced just over the line.

Roll Out the Red Carpet Mr Harper - Were Coming to Town!

It's official! The Atom rep Mustangs are heading to the Provincial Championships in Ottawa. They EARNED this right by defeating a very valiant foe in the Brampton Canadettes 4-2 Saturday on the road. It was a very tense match as all involved knew the winner goes to Ottawa and loser stays home. The Mustangs started well - briefly - :) as Kara den Hoed bested the Canadettes keeper putting one up and over the glove hand. The jubilation didn't last long as Brampton stormed back knotching 2 unanswered goals one in the first and one in the second.

One Step Closer to Ottawa
Submitted
By dlecourtois on Feb 24, 2013 (1130 views)
The Atom rep team took one more step toward their second major goal of the season today - a birth in the Provincial Championships in Ottawa. The did this by defeating a very hard working and determined Brampton Canadette squad. New game....same story....all the scoring took place in the first period. This time another sniper played hero as the T-Dot, Tianna Dietrich took advantage of Goodwin's hard work and a juicy rebound from a Carson Lean attempt and bested the Canadette keeper.
